Listening to What the Hive Teaches
Share
There is something grounding about standing beside a hive. The soft hum, the movement of the bees, and the rhythm of their work invite you to slow down and pay attention.
Bees are constantly responding to what is happening around them. They notice changes in light, temperature, scent, season and one another. Nothing in the hive happens in isolation. Every small action contributes to the wellbeing of the whole colony.
Spending time with my bees has taught me that presence works in much the same way for us. When we are rushing through our days, it is easy to miss the small signals around us — a shift in mood, a familiar scent, a moment of stillness or something our body is quietly asking for.
Scent can be a beautiful way to return to that awareness. A fragrance can interrupt the noise for a moment and bring us back into our senses. It can remind us of a place, a person or simply the feeling of being fully here.
The hive reminds me that connection does not always need to be complicated. Sometimes it begins with noticing what is already in front of us.
So today, take a moment to slow down. Notice what you can smell, what you can hear and how you feel. Like the bees, there is wisdom in paying attention.
