How do we support the ecosystems that care for us?

Our vital pollinators are under pressure in the modern world. Honeybees, native bees, butterflies, and other lovely insects are affected by habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change, and disease. These are the same species that support our food systems and maintain plant diversity, keeping our ecosystems functioning.

One third of the food we eat depends on pollinators. But more than food, it's about the intricate web of life that we're part of, whether we acknowledge it or not. When pollinator populations decline, the effects ripple outward.

The Apiarian Home exists for the bees. Every product begins with what they produce, which means this work is directly tied to their abundance and wellbeing. Supporting pollinators is part of the responsibility that comes with using the hive products we collectively enjoy in various aspects of our lives.

A portion of every purchase that you make from The Apiarian Home supports People & Pollinators Action Network (PPAN), a local nonprofit tackling the root causes of pollinator declines in Colorado. Honeybees and native bees both face the same primary threats: pesticide poisoning, habitat loss, and climate change. PPAN works at the municipal and state levels to advance policies that protect both people and pollinators from pesticide overuse; and to restore and expand biodiverse, climate-stabilizing ecosystems statewide.
